Website Design for Small Businesses in the US and EU

What small business website design covers
Website design for small business is a done-for-you service. Arcline Digital plans, designs, builds, and launches a website your company owns outright. We work with US and EU businesses that need a working site, not a half-finished template. A standard project covers page planning and site structure, visual design, a responsive build, on-page SEO basics, contact forms, and launch. You get a fixed quote before anything starts. Everything is built to load fast on a phone, because that is where most of your visitors will land. We are a small remote studio, so the person who scopes your project stays on it through launch. After go-live you can take a monthly care plan or take the keys and run the site yourself. Both are normal. Nothing is locked to us.
Live in one week.
What you actually receive
Every build ships with the same core set. Bigger projects add pages and functionality, not a better version of the basics.
- A responsive website that works on phones, tablets, and desktop
- Page structure and copy layout planned before design starts
- On-page SEO setup: titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, image alt text, XML sitemap
- Contact forms wired to an inbox you control
- Analytics installed so you can see traffic from day one
- A short handover walkthrough plus access to every account we touched
You keep the domain, the hosting account, the design files, and the site itself. If you leave, nothing breaks.
How a build runs
Step 1
Scoping call
We talk for 30 minutes about what the site needs to do. Sell, book, qualify, or explain. You leave the call knowing what the build involves and roughly what happens next.
Step 2
Fixed quote
You get a written scope with a price attached. Page count, features, and what is excluded are all named. The price does not move unless you ask for something outside that document.
Step 3
Structure first
Before any visual work, we map the pages and what goes on each one. This is where most of the arguing should happen. Changing a plan is cheap.
Step 4
Design and build
Design comes back for review. You get two rounds of revisions inside the quoted price. Then we build it.
Step 5
Launch and handover
We test forms, check speed, set up analytics, and push it live. You get logins and a walkthrough. If something breaks in the first 30 days, we fix it at no cost.
What we need from you
Two things move a project: decisions and material. Name one person who can approve work without a committee behind them. Then send what you have. Logos and brand files, photos you own the rights to, service descriptions, and anything from the old site worth keeping. Missing pieces are normal. We flag them in the first week and tell you what we can draft ourselves versus what only you can answer, like pricing and service terms.
Who this suits
Good fits:
- Service businesses that need to look credible to a buyer comparing options
- Companies with a site built years ago that nobody has touched since
- Founders who want one point of contact instead of a freelancer per task
- Businesses with an internal marketing person who needs a builder, not a strategist
- Anyone who wants to own their site outright rather than rent a page builder
Poor fits: businesses that want a website designed by committee, or projects where nobody internally can approve anything.
How the quote works
Every project is quoted in writing before anything starts. The quote names the page count, the features, and what is excluded, and it does not move unless you ask for something outside that document. Bigger sites, custom functionality, and integrations with tools you already run all change the scope, so they change the quote.
Monthly care plans are available separately for updates, backups, security patches, and small changes after launch.
Thirty minutes, and you leave with a scope and a number.
Where the scope stops
Being clear about this saves everyone a bad conversation later.
Not included as standard:
- Logo design or full brand identity work
- Long-form copywriting for every page (we structure copy, you supply the raw material, or we quote writing separately)
- Ongoing SEO campaigns, link building, or content production
- Paid ad management
- Custom photography or video
Any of these can be quoted. They just are not part of a standard build, because most clients do not need all of them.
Talk to us before you sign three quotes
Send the URL of your current site and one sentence about what it is failing to do. We will tell you what we would change first. If the honest answer is that you do not need a new site, we will say that.
Thirty minutes, video or phone.
Studio hours cover US and EU time zones.
FAQ
How do you quote a small business website?
Every project is quoted individually, against page count, functionality, and integrations. You get a fixed quote in writing before work begins, so the number in the proposal is the number you pay. Book a 30-minute call and you leave with the scope and the number. Monthly care plans for post-launch maintenance are quoted separately, per site.
How long does a small business website take?
Most builds go live in one week. A larger build has its core delivered in the same week, and integrations can add time. The biggest variable is you, not us. Projects stall when copy, photos, or approvals sit waiting. We ask for your content up front and flag anything missing early, which keeps the build moving. Larger sites with integrations take longer because there is more to test.
Do I own the website when it is finished?
Yes. The domain, hosting account, design files, and the site itself are yours. We set up accounts in your name where possible and hand over every login at launch. There is no clause that keeps you paying us to keep the site online. If you want to move to another developer next year, you can, and nothing has to be rebuilt from scratch.
Can you redesign my existing site instead of starting over?
Often, yes. If the structure is sound and only the design is dated, a redesign is cheaper than a rebuild. If the site is slow, insecure, or built on something abandoned, starting fresh usually costs less than fixing it. Send the URL and we will tell you which way we would go and why.
Do you work with businesses outside your time zone?
Yes. Arcline Digital is a remote studio covering US and EU business hours, so most clients get same-working-day replies. Projects run over email and scheduled calls rather than constant meetings. If your team is elsewhere entirely, we can still work with you, though calls will land at awkward hours for someone.
